USB over IP

USB/IP is a very promising USB device sharing system. It makes all types of USB devices accessible to other systems over TCP/IP.

We are using USB/IP internally and for our customers.

Debian package

The Debian package of usbip is waiting for review in the Debian NEW queue. In the meantime, you can fetch the source package from the git repository and build it yourself:

$ git clone git://git.debian.org/~xam/usbip.git  
$ cd usbip  
$ debuild

We'll upload backports for lenny to backports.org once the package has entered Debian testing.

Contributions

We have contributed some improvements and fixes to the project:

• Manual pages (patch submission, merged upstream),

• Fixed insecure use of /tmp file (patch submission, merged upstream),

• Debian packaging and maintainance (git)
